WHO RED IS
Red is a steady, affectionate dog who has shown himself to be calm, observant, and deeply sweet in his foster home. He enjoys being near his people, relaxing indoors, and moving through the day at an easy, grounded pace.
He has received consistency, structure, and care in foster care and has responded beautifully. Red isn’t a chaotic or demanding dog — he’s the kind of companion who fits into a home and makes it feel quieter, warmer, and more complete.
Red’s calm presence and social awareness are especially striking given where he started — and speak to his resilience and capacity to thrive in a loving home.
Red’s Story
Red was rescued from the Devore Shelter, where he was at risk of euthanasia, by 3 Eye Blind Rescue and brought into foster care by Keira Cumberland. He is believed to have lived much of his early life outdoors as a stray with his four brothers, all of whom have since been rescued.
When Red first arrived in foster care, he was unsure of new environments and unfamiliar experiences — including stairs, elevators, and car rides. He also arrived with kennel cough that progressed into a respiratory infection, which has since been treated and resolved.
With consistency, patience, and care, Red opened up quickly. He has shown himself to be eager to learn, deeply observant, and remarkably adaptable. He now walks well on a leash (with continued improvement), is crate trained, and has handled veterinary visits with calm, cooperative manners.
What stands out most about Red is his demeanor. He is non-reactive, gentle, and socially respectful with both people and dogs. In his foster home, he has demonstrated appropriate, submissive social behavior with an older, larger resident dog and has been calm and polite in greetings with all people and animals he has met so far.
Red tends to win people over once he’s given a moment to sniff, observe, and build trust — and from there, his sweet, steady nature shines.

REd’s IDEAL HOME
Red would thrive in a home that:
Is looking for a calm, steady companion
Values routine, structure, and connection
Enjoys walks, downtime, and quality time together
Can offer consistency, patience, and affection through his puppyhood. He will need some guidance and structure to keep him on the right path. His foster recommends investing in a few training sessions to ensure he is fully understood and ready to thrive in his new home.
Red doesn’t need chaos or constant activity — he’s happiest in a home that appreciates a grounded, easygoing dog.
